We were asked to plant a sensory garden at a special needs school, so we carefully chose plants that were stimulating on a number of levels.

- The raised beds were planted in gradients of rainbow colours for those children wanting visual stimulation.
- Soft grasses that move with the wind provide a textural element, along with furry Stachys leaves, to contrast with the firm leaves of Phormium.
- Smells are produced by the lavender plants and other herbs.
